I do like it when the church is diplomatic and polite about things. Despite differences and whatnot.

you mean we get to still pray for him even though he is a democrat? Are you sure? is this legit mike? like did the PROPHET tell us this? Or is this another email hoax?

I think this was more than a diplomatic statement. Elder Ballard didn't just ask us to pray for him. He asked us to help him accomplish his great objectives.

So the question isn't whether or not we're going to help him. It's what we're going to help him with.

isn't there something in lds theology about pursuing anything virtuous, lovely, of good report or praiseworthy? are so many saints such bitter political losers that they can't see the virtue of "[chosing] hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord"? wouldn't pursuing hope and unity at the national level fit all Paul's adjectives?

naysayers need to check their wallets. if there's a folded piece of paper in there with an embossed image of the salt lake temple on it they'll be praying as instructed.
