I ran Ragnar again this year. As my dad was running at 1:30am Saturday on the Carefree Highway, a police cruiser went by at about 100 mph. A couple of miles later, as my dad ran in and I was getting ready to go, the organizers stopped the race. Robby Mayasich, a senior at Brophy, had been hit by a car.
Robby died today from his injuries.

That's a tragedy from every angle. So sad to see the loss of such an obviously outstanding youth. Sad for his family and friends. Also sad for the driver of the Solara. I can't even imagine living with the horrible knowledge that you killed an innocent 18 year old boy...
Deb is my sister. But in this case, I left the comment, cos I was signed in as her -- I have to sign in as her to read a special blog she made to help her with a house hunt. Anyway, this is a convoluted way of saying that it was just me, Denise, and a sorry that we still have no new readers....
Oh and btw... glad to see that Mimolette made the banner. Tasty little bits of Paris, no?
Very tasty. However, I'm having trouble tracking down very old (i.e., 18 months) Mimolette. The only stuff I can find is classified as old (i.e., 9 months) and I've heard the very old takes it to another level.
First time I had it was in Paris with Daniel -- old and delicious (the cheese not the man, although...) but since then, the oldest stuff I've been able to find around here was at Stew Leonard's -- they have a very good cheese shop (at least for a grocery specialty store.) Next time you are here and have time to sup, let me know and I'll see if I can get some.
So sad. The rest of his team must have been with him when this happened. I read the linked article, but I can't imagine how this car could have stuck someone not out in the road. What a heartbreak.
In relation to the cheese comments...aged cheese scares me. My first exposure was in Minnesota last month, Ike's was serving "old cheese" I was quite concerned and would've just preferred normal cheese.
